Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 November 2026

This policy explains what personal information Lean Scene collects, why, who it is shared with, how long it is kept and what your rights are. It covers leanscene.co.uk, start.leanscene.co.uk (the quiz and sign-up), the Lean Scene membership, online coaching, in-person personal training, and any messages between us on WhatsApp, email, Instagram or Facebook.

If anything here is unclear, email me at andy@theleanscene.co.uk and I will explain it.

Who we are

Lean Scene is the trading name of Andy Kirkpatrick, a sole trader based in Northern Ireland. Postal address: 1st Floor, Donegall Square East, Belfast, BT1 5UB. We are the "controller" of your personal information, which means we decide how it is used and we are responsible for looking after it.

Health information

Information about your health is "special category" data under UK data protection law and gets extra protection. We only use it with your explicit consent, which you give when you submit your assessment, and only to make your coaching safe and suitable for you: your nutrition targets, your training programme and what we should or should not ask of you.

We never use health information for advertising, and we never share it with Meta or any other advertising platform.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us. If you do, we may not be able to keep coaching you safely, and we will tell you if that is the case.

How AI is used

We use AI tools to help run Lean Scene. You should know where:

  • Nutrition reports and training programmes are drafted with the help of AI (Claude, made by Anthropic), using your assessment and food log, following Andy's method. Andy is responsible for them and checks them through the weekly check-ins
  • WhatsApp: the first messages after the quiz, and replies to common questions, may be written by an AI assistant on Andy's behalf. Anything it cannot answer goes to Andy. You can ask to speak to Andy directly at any time
  • No decision with a legal or similarly significant effect on you is made by AI alone

The AI providers we use process your information only to provide this service to us and do not use it to train their models.

Cookies and advertising

Our websites use cookies, including the Meta Pixel, to measure which adverts work and to show our adverts to people likely to be interested. When you visit the quiz, start a trial or pay, we may share with Meta that this happened, together with information such as your email address or phone number. This information is hashed (scrambled) before it is sent, so Meta can match it to an account but cannot read it. This is known as the Conversions API.

We may also use the contact details of existing customers and clients with Meta, hashed in the same way, to:

  • stop our adverts being shown to you when you are already a member or client, and
  • build "lookalike" audiences, so our adverts reach people with similar interests. Meta does not tell us who is in those audiences

You can object to this at any time by emailing us, and we will remove you. You can also control the adverts you see in your Facebook and Instagram ad settings.

The hashed sharing described above does not use a cookie, so at the moment it happens whether or not you accept cookies. You can object to it by emailing us.

leanscene.co.uk also uses Google Analytics and Jetpack Stats to see how the site is used. The Meta Pixel, Google Analytics and Jetpack Stats do not run until you accept cookies in the banner. leanscene.co.uk and start.leanscene.co.uk each ask you separately. You can change your choice on leanscene.co.uk on the Cookie Policy page, and on start.leanscene.co.uk from the link at the bottom of the page.

start.leanscene.co.uk also counts page visits with Vercel Web Analytics. It uses no cookies, does not identify you and only shows us totals for each page, so it runs whether or not you accept cookies.
